Thomas Serval is a 33 year old French entrepreneur. Owner of several wireless technology patents, before joining Microsoft in November 2008, he co-founded and managed during 7 years Baracoda, a high-tech SME with 50 employees situated in the French department of the Yvelines.
Baracoda is the world leader in Bluetooth™ barcode devices and RFID readers. After having taken over Com One’s assets in 2005, Baracoda became one of the European leaders in wireless smart devices, with specific solutions for telecommunications operators such as radio broadcasting on the Internet (broadcast in France by Orange under the name of Liveradio™).
Wireless radio monitors manufactured by Baracoda allow users to listen to any radio in the world available on the Internet without having a computer turned on. More than 1 million listeners around the world use technologies from Baracoda to listen to high quality digital radio on the Internet.
Thomas Serval is also Vice Chairman of the Richelieu Committee and Board Member of the French Telecommunications Club des Entrepreneurs. Graduate of the Ecole Normale Supérieure (Ulm), Statistician Economist Engineer (ENSAE), Certified Public Accountant, having a Master in Business Law, he began his career as a researcher in economics and has published numerous articles on internet economics.
