Marissa Mayer leads Google's efforts on search and manages the Google.com homepage. She has launched hundreds of products and features on Google.com and internationalized the site to over 100 languages. In her ten years at Google, Marissa has helped lead the expansion of Google Search to include images, news, books, products, maps, and more. Marissa's responsibilities have likewise expanded to include the leadership of many initiatives such as Google Earth, Google Health, and iGoogle.

Also guiding the user experience group, Marissa develops and approves design standards that keep the company's products simple, intuitive, and useful. She has been a main contributor to Google’s user interface design since she joined the company in 1999 – she was Google’s first female engineer at the time.

Concurrently with her full-time work at Google, Marissa has taught introductory computer programming classes at Stanford University, which has recognized her with the Centennial Teaching Award and the Forsythe Award for her outstanding contribution to undergraduate education. Marissa earned both her B.S. in Symbolic Systems and her M.S. in Computer Science from Stanford; she also holds an Honorary Doctorate of Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology.

Fortune Magazine recently named her in their 50 Most Powerful Women list and Portfoilo listed her 6th among the 25 Innovators in Technology for 2009. Her contributions and leadership have been recognized by Newsweek ("10 Tech Leaders of the Future"), Fast Company ("The Most Influential Women in Technology"), and BusinessWeek ("25 Most Influential People on the Web"). Marissa is recognized widely as a significant voice for her perspectives on the impact of technology on peoples' daily lives. She is the co-chair for the Knight Commission on the Information Needs of Communities in a Democracy. She also serves the World Economic Forum as a faculty member and member of the Council on Technology and Education.
